FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW

Filmstar Bronze and Glow in the light shade (original) is a beautiful but expensive product. The bronzer shade in this palette is too subtle to create an effectively contoured look on my light medium complexion.
For reference, I achieve best result for contouring with Too Faced Chocolate Soleil or Tarte Park Avenue Princess Bronzer.
The texture of the powders is great - very finely milled but not at all chalky or powdery. It has a silky feel.
Color of the "Glow" portion of this compact is much more skintone inspired than other highlighters I own, which are rather pinkish, golden or white. Therefore, the effect is not too harsh. I do use a fan brush from e.l.f. Studio Line to lightly dust this product to the cheek bones, cupid's bow, top of the chin, and down the nose. There is no huge glitter, so the effect is "glowing," skin, though it is not as natural as Skin Perfector (liquid version) in Opal from Becca.

NYX Electro HD Blush

It’s so nice when you find a budget-friendly product that really performs well! That is the case withElectro. It was richly pigmented paired with a soft, smooth consistency that was easily blended out along the edges for a diffused application. If you prefer subtler blush, I’d recommend using a fan brush or duo-fiber brush, which will allow you to apply less product, and a lighter hand, as a little does go a long way. On me, the blush wore well for eight hours before fading along the edges.

This is sooo good! It's waterproof, smudge proof and for the price, it's much better than some of the other ones that I've tried. I use the color midnight brown and it's a perfect fit for me. I highly recommend it!

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution

The formula is not completely matte either. I was intrigued by the claim that these lipsticks "illuminate" your lips adding dimension. This effect is actually achieved by adding very finely milled glitter to the lipstick. This is particularly noticeable in the lighter shades.

Lancome Moonlight Rose Illuminating Powderis supposed to “give the skin a light-reflecting, luminous glow.” It’s a pale, warm-toned pink with a fine, frosted shimmer that sheers out easily when applied. If applied with a damp brush, it will take on a more metallic finish.Chantecaille Les Petales de Rose has a finer shimmer that turns to a sheen, so it is subtler on the skin; there’s also a slight golden tint that Lancome’s dosen’t have.

This product is amazing to me! I love everything about it. I use the color Medium and, luckily, it's a perfect match for me. It applies flawlessly. I usually just use my fingers which saves me time since I don't have to wash my foundation brush as often. First of all, it has the most efficient SPF on the market - mineral sunscreens. I like more of a full coverage, and this can give me that. My skin looks radiant and dewy after application! What more could I ask for?! And it's great to know it's packed with fabulous skin care. Bobbi Brown Pink Glow Highlight Powder

This shade to be more metallic than Bronze Glow, and it just very slightly emphasized pores in comparison (but it is minimal emphasis). The powder felt just as soft and silky, which helped it blend easily on the skin. It had good pigmentation which was controllable; it didn’t feel like the merest touch of the brush was too much, but you don’t have to pack it on either. I think the rosiness in this one might be more prominent if you have pinker undertones, but even in the pan, it seems more “rose gold” than pink to my eye. On me, the highlighter showed signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

BOBBI BROWN X L’WREN SCOTT AMNESIA ROSE PALETTE

 Ultra Violet is supposed to be sheer, but one of the issues I had with it is that it doesn’t apply evenly, so it’s not a sheer, even layer of color. I thought the matte shades tended to be quite powdery, though they blended easily on the lid, they also would sheer away and looked faded before the eight-hour mark. If you pat the shades on enough, just lightly blend along the edges, and do major clean-up after application, you can achieve fairly close-to-pan color. You could also use a white eyeshadow base, which would improve the adhesion and vibrancy of the sheerer shades in this palette.

bareMinerals The Love Affair Luminizer is described as a “pink nectar glow.” It’s a light, pink-tinged beige with a champagne-gold shimmer-sheen. Against my skin tone, it does seem a little warmer than it looks in the pan–but even in the pan, it does read warm. It reminded me of Bobbi Brown Rose Gold, when all blended together, though it had a frostier finish with less gold in it. MAC Porcelain Pink is lighter but comparable.

This shade is offered alongside The Shining Moment, which is a yellow-y gold hue.  If that shade was too warm for you, I think this would work better, though it will still add a warm glow to the skin.  It has a soft, finely-milled texture that blends out to a beautiful sheen with little shimmer, so it gives that lit-from-within effect once applied to the skin. The sheen over shimmer finish means it doesn’t emphasize pores or the skin’s natural texture, so it actually helps diffuse those things instead. It had great pigmentation, and it doesn’t have a white base, so it shouldn’t turn ashy on darker complexions. When I tested this for wear, The Love Affair wore for nine hours without fading.

Laura Mercier Matte to Metal Caviar Stick Set includes six miniature-sized eyeshadow pencils. Four shades are part of the permanent range, while two (Ganache and Aubergine) are limited edition. The Caviar Stick formula is supposed to “glide on smoothly” and “blend effortlessly” while also being “long-wearing, transfer- and crease-resistant” with “rich colour payoff.” Most of the shades I have tested from the formula are very good and true to the claims, though occasionally a shade is less pigmented or less blendable (but wear seems to be most consistent). Sugar Frost is a light-medium champagne gold with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation–about 85% coverage or so to my eye–with a creamy, slightly “wet” feel to it that glided across the lid without skipping or tugging. It was blendable for about twenty seconds, and after it mostly dried down, you could still diffuse the edge a bit with a stiffer brush, so the formula is forgiving and easy enough to work with if you’re comfortable with pencils.
